after 10 hours i have a website using google sites which is free

i just registered a domain which was around £8 for two years

and set about randomly pressing buttons till i came up with this

not bad for a few hours and a few quid , you are limited on fonts and the actual precise placement of text and restrictions of the template etc but it was quite fun really and this is better than no web site at all (some may disagree)

its amazing what you can accomplish for free now a days.

so have a look , extract the urine , feel free to comment

I know its too wordy and could do with more pictures etc this is a work in progress

I would put some pics of the good looking ladies on the front page. Maybe take out some of the "what could happen if you dont hire a pro". We both know what will happen when people dont hire a pro but i think it turns people off to be told about it at your site. I would put a positive "we are the best" spin on all of it.

Are you doing this full time Rob? Do you mind sharing the details about what you earn with this business? You can PM me if you wish to share :). Looks like a lot of fun.

I had an idea today for your site. I was thinking about the photos you have and how much fun they make it look. Have you thought about a blog site instead of just a website? You could have your pages just like you have now but make the front page be a blog where you have updated pics and testimonials for each gig you do.

I use facebook as my sort of blog .

i have been messing mixing music since i was 13 years old then with vinyl and cassette tapes ... but nothing prepared me for residency work in british pubs ..the film roadhouse and the blind guy playing in the band is a close example but with out the screen and actively asking drunks up to sing if you are doing karaoke..functions are where the better gigs and money is but as you may have guessed im a edgey type of guy and like a little to a lot of risk so i have a rep in pubs.

i now am doing more weddings and other party functions

in the uk there are

PAT testing
public liability insurance and
produb licences
pluse national insurance and income tax

after buying genuine music and karaoke and investing in equipment and business car insurance

the earnings are ok ....after the honeymoon period of two years it gets a bit harder as most functions become the same routine ..keeping fresh and up for it can be hard ..being fun and happy on demand is a skill ..acting it doesnt often cut it.

setting up and packing up and prep time have to be factored into costs and charges and then some kid just in it for beer money under cuts you with a ipod and a dodgy sound sytem with no certificates or talent but price wins through some times ..

its as frustrating as the CI industry for that ..the rewards of happy customers is the main reason why i do it to be honest not the money..

its not a job to do on its own like i do! but in addition to a full time job can be a good side line IMHO

Thanks again.
