hi - i have a curent problem at my place of work :

the auditorium there has three mitsubishi xd3500u projectors, lined up . one central one which is mainly used smaller meetings and the left and right ones which then both project the same image for slightly large meetings.

over the last few months our supplier has started supplying us with replacement lamps for these from a company called diamond lamps. i was not working at this place full time prior to december and apparently the lamps they used before these diamond lamps were only lasting a month or so before dying.

now these new diamond lamps seem to be blowing after only a few weeks, which is even worse. :(
and today i attended the room to find another lamp has blown, so i replaced the lamp and found that the projector wont even power on with this new good lamp. i get a solid red power light and flashing green, indicating that the lamp is not good or 'the protection circuit is working'

i have found out that these projectors are no longer being made now too

can i ask people's opinion of what may be the problem here? does anyone have the same experience? is it maybe a case of the projector being at its end of life or is there some other possible reason? there are no filters to clean and the room is at a good temperature

thanks for any advice or help

cheers
