OK i finally got my spouse ok to replace the 62" dlp in the living room now for the million$$ question should it be a LCD OR PLASMA? i was lookink at the new 55" toshiba and samsung lcd's but i can get more bang for my bucks(always wanted to say that) if i go with a 58" samsung or a 60" lg plasma which would save some $$ for a dozen of roses and a night out. any suggestions or negatives on these sets $2800 is the buget(yeah right)
i dont need nothing but this and maybe this, and that....(the jerk)

Do you have specific models you're looking at already?

wow I guess this comment is super late, but plasma is absoultely the way to go if you want the following:
- better performance in a room with a lot of natural light, because it's brighter. I hate looking at LCD's compared to my plasma, they look so dull and faded looking unless you're able to control the ambient light.
- far better viewing angles, good for group console gaming (ie wii)

BUT... it does use a lot more power. Still, the power difference is spread out in your bills so it's not an immediate hit to your wallet.
