i created a few Global Presets,
and assigned them to home page and power off page.

i mapped out all the cable buttons for the cable pages ,
same with apple tv etc . .

after i compile and upload,
all the commands are somehow missing from all the joins i made,
and they never make it to the remote after upload.

i restarted software,
restarted pc, both didnt help.

im trying running updates via master installer now to see if that helps.

just to be clear,
i am customizing everything from scratch (as i have been doing for months).

when letting the SB build pages for me (via preferences on PTX3) it does work correctly.

maybe i forgot a step somewhere and its my fault ..
weird . .

any thoughts ?

If everything is done logic wise and you're just updating the hard buttons, under properties uncheck the automatically build pages button.

But first, go to the interface you're having trouble with in VTPro. Once it is updated how you want it, click FILE then COMPILE. This will compile your interface right in VTPro. You're most likely having a failure upon compiling and it is reverting back to the last good interface. This is what my problem was with this exact issue last week.

Once it compiles, there is a little box at the bottom of the screen that will tell you if it was successful or if it failed.

Not directly related but... manually update master installer before using it to update the rest of your Crestron software.

i compiled in vt pro and that worked,
but if i make any changes in system builder and upload it still strips all commands out.

im happy to have a work around for now,
but what should i do ? uninstall all crestron software and reinstall ?

Any changes you make in system builder, just compile and upload that interface before doing the whole system build and uploading to the PMC2. I know it's a work-around, but you're doing something that it isn't liking, programming wise. You'd have to have somebody look at your programming because something that's going on, the system build isn't liking.

ok i disabled each individual devices page building via properties.
im not sure if i had to do this on other projects or not.

i did that, built and updated again and got a strange error.
i restarted the software and uploaded again and did not get error,
but the remote did not send commands properly. i checked the programming and it did not wipe the commands.

i then tryied adding a few more commands in and building and uploading again and it worked.

i guess it was that the devices had the checkbox selected to build pages for it.
i guess i just didnt remember to do it . .

i thought i remembered that i only had to uncheck it on the remotes properties.

I'm finding more and more that it's best to keep a Prodigy job as simple as possible and let system builder do much of the work for you in terms of creating logic and user interface. I try not to add or delete more than a few buttons or extra steps in the macro. Add macros using feedback on receiver or amp outputs again to keep it simple. Another lesson I learned last week is that files should be exported, not just saved to prevent problems after updating system builder.

i cant. i hate the way it builds systems.
and its much much harder to do any good customizing
with the pre built systems.

starting from scratch it the only way to do it.
(with pre made graphic templates that you populate with codes,
and edit graphics when needed).

that and the destiny theme is puke worthy.

About the easiest customization I suggest that won't mess everything up is simply to change the background through the project.

Destiny's buttons really aren't too bad. A little overkill (I don't need ROOM SELECT option when I only want them controlling one room).

You can change one page's background and apply it through out and within 5 minutes you have a much sleeker looking interface.

Here is Stock Destiny

Agreed - sorta bland

I just made ALL These nicer looking templates in a few minutes....tell me they don't dress it up a bit and make destiny acceptable.

For anyone who does know how to do this. Simply open your project in VTPro, open one interface page. Right click and select Properties. Under the Image click Browse and find your new back ground image. Then click OK.

Now right click on the UI page and select "Redefine Theme Style".  Check the top Box, "Apply the changes to all objects of the same type in the project" and the one below "Replace Existing Graphics"

And BAM! your entire project as a sexy new back drop.

right. now try customizing the actual programming !
not easy to do with all that auto project building getting in the way.

What are you trying to customize?

I'm still going at it in both directions similar to how you do and trying to just customize what SB does.

I haven't decided whats best. For example, you do your own layout and programming completely. Have you figured out how to show feedback on a Keypad/PTL4/Mobile Pro when a light is turned on by another interface? Or a zone is turned on?

I figured out how to get feedback for the ipod, but haven't really figured out how to make other interfaces repsond when something is done in the same zone but from another control.......is this making sense?
