I created a large system last night. When I uploaded the program, the sources were missing for the "Theater" on the interfaces (PTL4 & PTX3). I found that the sources were not selected in the properties box for the Theater room. However, even if I select the sources, it will not save the change.
I have been working on it all day and night. Tech support couldn't figure it out, and they are woking with my files. I tried creating new projects in Prodigy Composer and directly in SystemBuilder. I still get the same results; no sources in my theater room. I even tried on two seperate computers witht the same results.
All software is up to date. Is anyone else having this problem? I have guys sitting around waiting to deliver a rack to an anxious customer.......
Thank you!

I have to step out right now to head to a job, but will take a look at it when I return. In the meantime I'll check to make sure all my software is up to date as well.

Just got off the phone with tech support. They confirmed the issue and had the same results on their end when they tried to create a new project.
I'm dead in the water unless I can modify an older existing program and not loose the functionality. I have a large prodigy system that needs to get delivered. Once again, another issue......
I can't believe everone is not having the same problem if it is a software bug??????????????
I would send you guys the file, but the archive is 20+ Megs.

Feel for ya! Time to learn Simpl. Crestron releases beta system builder software about every 2 weeks, sometimes twice a week. It is made to fit into the box. Sounds like the system you have is too big for the box. About 4 years ago I had a large SB job (Boss wanted SB, I wanted to use Simpl) and it came to a point where it wouldn't assign anymore joins. I maxed it out. I was SOL for about a two weeks untill Crestron released a fix. Crestron DOES fix their stuff. Sounds like you just happen to be pushing their limits at this point in time and/or found a bug.

Although I don't use SB for prodigy on a regaular basis, I did one time try do see if I could build a system faster in system builder than in Simpl, VT pro. I ran into the exact same problem your having. I didn't give it much thought at the time because I use Simpl anyway. Actually that just confirmed my thoughts on not using SB.
I hope you get your problem figured out, but my advice to you would be to bite the Simpl bullet and develope a duplicatable prodigy system to minimize programming time on later systems. Prodigy is actually very powerfull under Simpl with limited Crestron gear, but with the new Mobile pro G on an ipad you can create some great systems.
If you have not yet taken the essentials class I highly recommend you take one to get started and then as soon as your able to, get yourself in the intermediate class. At that time you will never want to open SB ever again.

OK, found the problem and it was my fault!
One of the technical support guys in NJ called me and let me know that the problem was related to a step in the process that I had not yet completed. I had not assigned the receiver and switching input for the sources in the Theater room. Since this was not done, the program would not allow them to be selected as sources for this room. The program automatically assigns the inputs to the PAMP, that is why that portion of the program allowed us to select the same sources.
All I had to do was go to the properties of each source and select the receiver device and input. I was then able to get the sources to appear in the remote and touchpanel projects.
Another good lesson learned, won’t do that again!
The biggest issue I have Crestron is the lack of experience most of the technical support people have with SystemBuilder. I can almost hear the groan from them when I call in with an SB problem. They have to close Simple and VTPo to open SB on their machines and then start digging around.
However, the support representative that helped me with my problem was very proficient with SB and found the problem in several minutes. I hear that they may start a separate support queue for SB problems.
I have taken essentials, configuration, lighting control and advanced SB classes. Most of them were very good, but the Advanced SB class was the worst. It was taught by a new employee who didn't know SB or the curriculum. SB is just not supported properly by Crestron.
Yes, I’m going to learn Simple and VT-Pro. If I knew it was going to be this hard, I would have thought twice about Crestron. However, I did think twice or maybe ten times and still went with Crestron. I still think it was the best choice. Can’t wait to see the new Prodigy distributed video matrix at CEDIA!
