By this I mean, if you are doing a mutlizone system, what room do you put the equipment in for programming? Does it matter.

In general, I put the equipment in the room that they are stored, usually the Theater/Family Room. However, I have one system where the iPod dock is on the for DA. This was my first Prodigy system and in the programming I had to get help from tech support. The changed it and put the iPod dock in the Kitchen.

Does this matter?

Wow... it's all so clear to me now! Yes, by all means, put the equipment there, I agree.

If the ipod dock is wiring back like its a head end source then i put it in the equipment room. If its connecting locally like via CNXRMCLV then i put it in the room its actually in.

I dont think it matters. The tech support issue you had sounds like a buggy program work around. Any reason you can think of that they put it in the kitchen? Or did they just move it out of the equipment room so fix whatever got broken in code the first time around?

No it doesn't matter. If all of your equipment is in a room that does not have DA, pick the closest DA room and build your equipment there.

If you have distributed video, as well, put the TV's and any local sources that are part of your Crestron system in the appropriate rooms. This is mainly for ease of programming and remembering where each TV is in programming vew.

You can build everything in one room but it opens you up to making mistakes in programming.

+1. They may have done this so that they didn't have to to a rebuild and wipe out custom programming.
