Like it says, - I have a system with a whole bunch of keypads, a few of which have started to flash all LEDs. In Toolbox, I can connect to the MC3 and when I go to Functions --> Gateway, I can see it listed there, but it's listed as UNDEFINED, instead of the model number.
It doesn't report it's serial number as well. I tried to use serial number conversion to get that back in, but that doesn't work (can't enter any text).
Anyone seen this?

Yes, this sounds familiar. Had a job w/ notorious utility-power issues (rural Louisiana) exhibit similar behavior; if i recall correctly, prior to a certain FW upgrade the CLW-DIMEX line could get stuck in this state if power to the device was cycled rapidly.
There's a fix (involved re-loading firmware i think) but its time consuming. I'll search my emails and post if I find more info, but Crestron support should be able to assist as well.

N/M I found it, answer ID 5225, and its a doozy. This is giving me flashbacks to the 4-hour roundtrip to get on-site + a very long day doing this process to 40 or 50 units...
I have an CLW device that blinks its LED constantly and shows up as "CLW-UNDEFINED" on the gateway once it is acquired. Is the unit recoverable?
These symptoms may occur after rapid cycling of the AC power. It is correctable in the field using the steps defined below.
Step 1: Reassign TSID / Serial numbers to all devicesTurn power off to all devices that have been affected.Connect to Gateway using toolbox and open Network Device Tree and Console view. If using MC3 processor connect directly to MC3.Place Gateway into acquire mode by pressing Acquire button or issuing "ACQUIRE START" command over ConsolePower up one device (take note of serial number on device)Device will automatically restart acquiring process.Wait for device to show up in Text Console window.Device will report in Network Device Tree view as UNDEFINEDRight click on device and select Change Serial NumberEnter Serial Number in boxRight click on device and assign Network ID to match programRepeat process for all affected devicesExit Acquire mode from Gateway by pressing button or entering "ACQUIRE STOP"
Step 2: Reassign Factory Settings for all devices
Ensure all devices are acquired to gateway and have valid TSIDs and RF-IDs. Then,connect to Gateway or directly to MC3 and enter "REP". Console will display device information as shown below. The TSID and RF-IDs are the second and third numbers, i.e. C001AA55 and 22 in the example below.

For each of the devices in the list that reports as UNDEFINED, enter the following command in the Console:
If connected to external Gateway, enter:
JOINSETANALOG [Address].254 0 [Device Type]
If connected to the internal gateway within an MC3 processor, enter:
JOINSETANALOG 0x03.[Address].254 0 [Device Type]
Replace [Address] with the RF-ID eg 0x03 or 0x55
Replace [Device Type] with the physical device model from list below
1 = CLW-DIMEX-E
2 = CLW-SWEX-E
3 = CLW-DIMSWEX-E
4 = CLW-DIMEX-P / CLW-DELVEX-P
5 = CLW-SWEX-P
6 = CLW-DIMSWEX-P
7 = P-DIMEX
8 = P-SWEX
For LAMP Dimmers ONLY
1 = CLW-LDIMEX-1
2 = CLW-LDIMEX-2
3 = CLW-LSWEX-1
4 = CLW-LSWEX-2
For Expanders ONLY
1 = CLW-EXPEX
2 = P-EXPEX
If device was set as address 04 and it was a CLW-DIMEX-P dimmer then enter:
"JOINSETANALOG 0x04.254 0 4""
If connecting to internal gateway within an MC3 processor command would be:
"JOINSETANALOG 0x03.0x04.254 0 4"
Repeat for all devices that are reporting as UNDEFINED
Once the CLW-DIMEX-P, CLW-DIMSWEX-P, CLW-SWEX-P, CLW-DIMSWEX-E, CLW-SWEX-E,
CLW-DIMEX-E units are recover install firmmware version 2.005.0060 or later.
Once the CLW-LDIMEX / CLW-LSWEX are recovereed, install firmware version 2.003.0011 or later.
Once the CLW-EXPEX is recovereed, install firmware version 1.001.0006 or later. |

Thanks - that worked. I think the last step is to re-teach the keypad the button pattern. My scenes weren't recalling at first, so I did that and it seemed to fix it up.
