Hi there -

I always forget the exact procedure, and tomorrow I'm having a tech go to a job site for an MLX-3 swap because I'm out of town.

Here's what I had in my notes:

In console, while connected to appropriate gateway, type:

UNACQUIRE 0
UNACQUIRE 1
REBOOT

Is that right? For some reason I recall the command was 'unacquirebytsid'.

Thanks

unacquirebytsid is correct. I think you need an underscore or a space between the command and the TSID.

Unacquire device by TSID
UNACQUIREBYTSID [TSID|ALL] [zdo leave flag]
TSID - device TSID <########>
ALL - all devices
zdo leave flag - 0 MNET command sent to client to leave the network
1 ZDO command sent to client to leave the network
Note: this command is not applicable to ER devices

Good luck with this, I haven't had much luck.

I've found if I pull the power on the EX device and reboot the gateway, it's gone from the gateway.

This is what I've always done when replacing MLX3/MTX3 type devices. Make sure original device is powered off, reboot gateway, start acquire process.

Follow console command as Cynic says. UNACQUIREBYTSID [TSID|ALL] [zdo leave flag]. Insert TSID of device or ALL to remove all devices. ZDO flag is 1 for infinet ex devices. There will be no response given in console. You MUST reboot gateway afterwards for it to take effect.

This is not valid for ER devices (like the TSR-302). Only way ive seen to unacquire those is an init on the gateway.

TB support has told me if you are removing the device permanently from the job, there is no reason to have to unacquire as it wont conflict with anything even if the new remote / keypad / dimmer has the same RFID.

Correct but when you reboot the gateway it loses it. I was adding a new HR remote using the same ID as the old MLX and even though the MLX was off, the gateway still reported it and wouldn't accept the new remote. Reboot the gateway and all is good.
