Hi Everyone.
The customer asked to implement IR control over Carrier AC. They're using
CS457-R14A remotes. I searched thru the web, and guessed that it's possible to compose IR command with all params in SIMPL and send it to IR-out as a serial command. The issue is that Carrier codes are not documented anywhere, and i didnt find information of someone that reverse-engineered them. The second issue that the project site is in another country so i cant just learn the codes from the remote and try to understand them myself.
Please if someone'd done that, help.

Only ever used a Carrier SAM board for integration. Have had a few customer ask to control their HVAC units with IR and refused all, not worth the hassle. Your frequent flyer miles should go up travelling back and forth though!!

Did you pre-wire for the AC unit/s? Crestron doesn't make an IR remote.

The problem if you had the remote would be learning all the combinations of codes.
For example AC On, Temp 21, Heat, Fan On is one code
AC On, Temp 22, Fan On is another.

So there is thousands of combinations to learn and control.

I didn't design the system, just got a programming request. They have IR probes in front of AC control boxes. I know that crestron has only preset IR sequences. But it is possible also to send a string to IR port within SIMPL, isn't it?
