I made up an interface for a friend who has a Samsung Galaxy tablet. I've never had to deal with one of these before, and now it's a can of worms.

In VT, I created it in the landscape configuration and it loaded up and worked fine at first. Then somewhere along the line, it rotated to the portrait orientation, and resized itself in such a way that about a third of the interface is off the screen. And it STAYED there. It doesn't rotate any which way now.

If you relaunch the app, it seems to shift from one corner to the other, but the orientation is always wrong. I deleted the app and re-installed everything, checked the app settings on the tablet, the setting within the app itself, and the general setting for the tablet display itself, and haven't found a fix yet.

I've tried to lock the orientation, but that doesn't seem to stick for the Crestron app. I'm at a loss on this one...

Any input is appreciated!

Which Samsung tablet is it?

They do mention issues with the 10.2" I'm pretty sure.

I believe it's a Galaxy Tab 5. I'll get the exact model next time I'm there.

My pixel phone did this maybe 50% of the time although with the latest app update it seems like it rarely does that. You running the latest app? I know we had a client that bought a new Pixel C tablet and just pulled down the mobile project we have running in his ipads and he said it was not filling the screen correctly. After the recent update he reports it works perfect now.

Yeah, I just did a complete re-install a few days ago. Redownloaded app, and re-did the setup.

doesn't the app allow you to lock the orientation?

iOS does.

Yes, you can. I saw that setting and tried to work with it, but it didn't operate as expected. With an iPad, you lock it and it stays. Done.

I re-installed everything and uploaded only AFTER I went through the settings in the device, the app settings on the device and the app itself.

I located a setting in VT-Pro to allow for rotation. It's one of the properties that is available for adjustment when the project name is highlighted. After uploading, the interface WILL rotate to a wrong orientation when in portrait position, but now it will rotate back when in landscape position.

So I guess it's OK. But I still hate Samsung tablets.
