Just wondering if the CLW-DIMEX switches can control fans as well or if that will cause problems in the fan motor? I know Crestron is about to release a new device (CLC-FANDELVEX) which fits in the hood of the fan, but i was wondering if you guys are installing the CLX-1FAN4 for fan control or if the DIMEX can control the speed as well.

Thanks

Can't use a regular DIMEX for a fan. I've used their dimmer/switch combo for a fan but you have to set the fan speed on the fan itself. Use the CLX-1FAN4 all the time and it works great.

I would also find out what kind of fan is being installed.

A lot of the new fans now come with remotes to control the light and fan separately. For these they only require a 2 wire (14/2 romex) to the fan. I believe this new wireless module is to replace this remote module and allow Crestron to control both devices with just a 2 wire for power.

If the Fan is going to have pulls for fan and light control then you will want a 3 wire (14/3 romex) to the fan to control both separately.

If the house is already finished how are you planning on putting a CLX-1FAN4 in? If the house isn't finished why aren't you using a Crestron wired keypad with lighting modules?
You can't fix stupid
