I have a CNXLIR and i cannot get it to connect to DEAL. I have it powered on and DEAL does not recognize it. I have tried a few different RS-232 to usb cables and none are working for me. Anyone know of any cables that will work or the pin outs to do it myself?

The first one I used came with 115200 set as default, maybe check it.

Are you talking about the detect hardware in DEAL? No, in Windows. Control panel - device manager - com ports. You should find your adapter there and look at the properties of it.

You should find your adapter there and look at the properties of it. In my device manager as soon as i plug the USB into my computer it is recognized as a USB to serial and the drivers say they are working properly and are up to date.

The serial port settings must match between the 2 for them to communicate properly. IE: 9600, 8 N 1. If the CNXLIR is set for 9600 Baud but your port is set for 115200, they're not going to talk to each other.

I did change the settings on my device manager to match those and still it will not recognize my device. I made sure that the cable I purchased matches what the specs are as a DB9 straight and has RTS and CTS connections

And the port number of your adapter matches the serial port number selected in Deal?

Deal doesn't know how many com ports you have. The USB adapter will have a com port number.
When in Deal, if you select "detect hardware" it does nothing?

When in Deal, if you select "detect hardware" it does nothing? And in Device Manager it should list an assigned Com Port next to the entry for your USB->Serial device...this can and will change.

In the device manager it lists it as COM port 4 however DEAL does not give me the drop down to select com port 4 and when i press detect hardware it just says communication error.

From the DEAL user manual:
Make sure the connection cable is a RS-232, DB-9 “straight through” cable with hardware handshaking capability. Cable must include RTS and CTS connections.
