I have a program that I am getting ready and have some closet doors that will be triggering an IO on my DIN-AP3. The light in the closet will come on when door is open and off when closed. Do I use a generic motion detector as the programming device for this or is there something better suited for this application?

TIA

Or generic contact closure, either will work. Think about a timer on the light as well.

I usually program these in the SIMPL program. I find it easier to do than in D3.

We do this all the time and use a generic digital input. Go into "other devices" - right click on the room then new - Devices - Type, change to "Generic", then select "Generic Digital input" from the model.

For closet doors we never use a timer. Usually if you are in the closet the door will be open, If you aren't in the closet then the door is closed.

If you use the Cameo Pro keypads you gain a lot more inputs this way too rather than having to add a DIN-IO8.

For Mechanical rooms and sometimes small rooms with 1 light we just use a basic light switch rather than a keypad as you get the same functionality at a fraction of the cost
