Just wondering if all DM-MD8X8 chassis were the same. I know there is a dual power supply version as well, but for the most part, an 8X8 from 5 years ago will work the same as one from this year? I wasnt sure if some internals have changed over the years to support the increased bandwidth for 4k cards.

Thanks

sweet... just picked up my 8X8 today :)

next question, the 8X8 has an DMCO-53 card in it and i was wondering if i can connect a DM-RMC-4K-100-C to the 8G+ output and add a 4K input card to get 4K to my TV or if you have to have a DMCO-88 to stream 4K out to a DM-RMC-4K-100-C ? i read through the manual and i do not see where it specifies the output card as anything other than 8G+.

Thanks for the help!

OK... i just watched the intro to DM 4K videos and got my answer. It does require a DMCO-8 Output card for a 4K display.

take the training/read more. DMCO-XX cards have been replaced with DMC-XXX-YYYY cards.

Also newer HDMI 2.0/HDCP 2.2 cards are on their way for 8G+/Fiber.

The new single space cards will not fit correctly in the older chassis without a mod from crestron. The retaining bracket on the older chassis was designed to hold a 4 space older card so the bracket won't have any taps to hold the middle 2 cards

Does anyone know what constitutes an older chassis? the one i picked up is from 2014 so im hoping that is new enough.

I just went back to the website and i see the cards that you are talking about. I must admit, it is actually kinda nice to be able to get cards 2 displays at a time instead of 4. Hopefully that means the price per card will be cheaper.

Do you think the DMCO-88 will be able to do HDMI 2.0/HDCP 2.2 ? or will that require the new cards?

Thanks guys

They should work fine as I've done a few from last year an the new cards work just fine. HDMI 2.0 and HDCP 2.2 are coming but not yet available.
