Hi all.

I have a job coming up soon with 20-30 rooms, all identical systems with slight room config differences.

I want to use the same program for all rooms and simply have an XML or CSV or plain TXT file for each system which can be fed to each processor which the program can read and update each rooms details for things like display names, room names, number of mics etc etc.

I know it can be done! Ive seen it dont but ill be buggered if i can find out any info on HOW to do it. Cant find any Crestron Documentation on it but Ive read lots of threads on here when people say thats exactly what they do but thats as far as I get!

Would I be right in thinking that there is a separate config file for a DMPS and a separate file for the Program? Ideally I would also need to load up pre-defined settings for each DMPS in the job.

Hoping someone could point me in the right direction!

Cheers in advance.

Scott

What equipment will be going into each room? We have no information from your post of room configuration. This info will help us help you.

Hey mate,

Cheers for the reply. Not having much luck so far! Almost seems like this process im trying to achieve is a black art of Crestron programming! lol

The rooms consist of DMPS-AEC units with dual projection, Lectern with 1-2 goose neck mics, another bench with 1-3 mics depending on room. The equipment isnt so much the issue but as to how to format a text file and how to load/retrieve that information in my SIMPL program.

Basically I need to be able to do the following via text file: (actually i dont NEED to but this is definitely something I WANT to learn)

1) Set IP Address/Hostname settings of the DMPS
2) Set Room name for display on the Touchpanel and possible for Fusion
3) Label Mics on touchpanel depending on how many mics are being used in each room
4) Preset some basic settings in the DMPS such as Master output levels, Mic Preamp gain (again depending on which mics are being used), phantom power, disabling HDCP on certain inputs depending on the rooms config.
5) Set source lables depending on room config.

Thres just no documentation on the process of writing a text file and getting the program to read and use the values from it on startup. I know it can be done as at my last job, we did it for 50 odd courtrooms that we set up. Unfortunately I wasnt the programmer for that job.

Cheers

Scott

I've never heard about what your asking but there are many more knowledgeable than me on the subject. I've seen your post on Yahoo, another forum would be IP. Very knowledgeable Crestron people there.

I could always suck it up and call the programmer I used to work with. Lol. Or maybe I'll call my crestron rep and get him to give me a quick crash course!

Thanks anyway mate.
