Question is pretty straight forward, what would be the ideal procedure to create an IP device under SystemBuilder?

I've been mostly working with IR and RS232 devices my whole time using SystemBuilder, so my experience with IP devices is pretty limited.

BTW, first time poster, So... What's up Remote Central? (:

How did you create the few you've already worked with? I'd repeat the procedure. I was fortunate enough to only have to deal with SB for a few months, I wouldn't know how to help.

SIMPL = better.

Login to the Crestron website and do a search for the following Answer ID's:

4459: Adding TCP/IP Modules in System Builder

@kgossen Well believe or not, I've done all of my important programming on SB, but just recently switched to Crestron Studio, I've never had the chance to learn SIMPL programming properly, a good online tutorial would be a good start.

@lites4u Thank you very much, those links were live saving mate.

Thanks!

Sorry for the massive delay btw.

STAY AWAY FROM STUDIO!!!

Theme editor is fine for creating your own theme's but you're better of with SB.

What's wrong with Studio?

The entire list or just the top 10?

Studio is a pretty ambitious project. When it's done, it should be very cool but at the moment, it's just not ready for prime time. Read the threads about it on the Yahoo Crestron group.

I will 2nd the stay away from studio. It has come along way this year but I would not use it for a customers system. Still to many open issues. If your using system builder stick with it. There are button models that still are missing in studio. Press and hold doesn't exist. Really. Still.
On a side not I have my entire office building running on a pretty large "HYBRID" program. I setup all the simple programming using macro style and did all the lighting, navigation, security, climate, in program designer. The processor is a PRO2 and I have several 2 series and 3 series panels.

(4) Mobile proG
(4) Crestron APP
(1) Xpanel
(1)Smart graphics X-panel
(2) 4 inch touch screens
(1) 8 inch touch screen

Funny thing is I still need to change out my processor and the series 2 TP's. Just haven't gotten a chance. The Crestron app ipads get used more than anything else.

And I stand corrected. The new version of Studio has the "Tap and Hold" button model in it. Please forgive my ignorance.
