Hey guys.

Just wondering if anyone here has programmed one of these using the official crestron module yet?

Having an issue when using rs232 for control. The first time I upload code to the crestron processor, the initialization process between the module and the polycom functions correctly and the polycom accepts the admin password. Everything talks and works properly.

Upon hard power off/on testing, they decide not to talk. The initialization process tries to take place but the polycom rejects the admin password. Repeatedly.

Have debugged and I can see the exact same strings being sent. They just wont talk. If I manually trgger the initialization process, eventually (as in like after 100 or so attempts) it works. Not sure if it a crestron module issue or potentially a polycom security issue.

Hoping someone here has had some experience with these and may be able to offer some advice! Been at it for days now!

Figured it out!

Crestron was repeatedly trying to log on to the polycom unit whilst it was still powering up. Polycom takes a lot longer to power cycle than the DMPS. After 5 attempts to log in to the polycom, the unit locks out all incoming connections. Security setting. Disabled that and voila. Time for a beer.

:)

Thanks for sharing! I'll know to look for that if I ever have to connect to this unit through Crestron.

Feels good when you figure something out like is, good work.

Cheers kgossen. It definitely does feel good. Although, if i ever have to sit there and watch another polycom unit do its 5 minute boot up sequence again, Ill probably quit and go work at McDonalds. lol
