Since Crestron has discontinued the ML600, is there a way I can pick up a few MX-850's and flash a firmware to them to make them communicate properly?

You can use URC "i" model remotes with Crestron. You just need a 433 gateway.

I use MX-1200's for any TV locations. 418 Gateway. Perfect. In your case an MX-890 might be a really nice upgrade.

Found this link on URC Dealer Portal "Forums" section: [Link: urccontrolroom.com]I've never tried an 850, but this implies that you can.

Just use the RF models with the Crestron code set and program an old skool 30 button in SIMPL.
OR
You can use any old programmable IR remote and use a C2N-IRGW-1G.
