In the last couple of weeks I have had 2 MC3's lock up in the field. The one system has been in over a year and the 2nd only a couple of months.

Both required rolling a truck and rebooting....None of these have or will have managed switches and the customers don't want to touch the system.

Both were programmed in SB and I'm wondering if there is a way to program a scheduled reboot every week / month or whenever. I don't see a reboot command in SB for the processor. TIA

Even without a managed switch, can't you remote into it with toolbox and reboot it? I do that quite often, even without a managed switch.

If the actual unit is locked up, probably couldn't remote in.

The only time I've ever had any of our Crestron processors lock up was a programming glitch, but usually showed itself pretty quickly.

I know in SIMPL I can program and stop and start for the 10 programs.

I always recommend against "scheduled reboots".
MC3's should NOT be locking up.  This definitely should be a call to TB and resolved by finding the true cause.  MC3 has been used in many of the jobs I program and I can say I don't see this issue, programmed in SB or Simpl Windows.

Definitely get the error logs off the processors and save them onto your computer.
What firmware is on the processors? Remember there is an infrequent problem with 1.7.9 (or whatever it was).
Do they just require a power cycle or do you need to restore the programs? if the second, this is the failsafe Crestron has built into the processor (I believe you were having problems with a couple months ago) and putting in a UPS just for the processor will help eliminate this problem.
When they are locked up can you connect to them via toolbox when onsite?
You can't fix stupid

Interestingly enough, I pulled the error logs on one of the processors. Looks like someone or a bot is trying to access the processor. The concerning thing is that recently, the assailant has been trying to start a Telnet session with the processor. It is happening rapidly at about an attempt every 10 seconds. I can see this being an issue with the processor. I'm going back this week to set up SSL/ Authentication on the MC3.
