I have a customer who is not happy with the audio quality of his Adagio and wants to get some better sound for a number of zones. He is a bit of an audiophile but we are up against rooms with in ceiling speakers. I am thinking of upgrading his speakers and contemplating upgrading his amplification without going separates for every zone.

Does anyone have an opinion on the CNAMPX-16X60 amp?

Crestrons CNAMPX kicks ass. I haven't worked with much of the Adagio line but we did put in an AAE once and it sounded pretty good IMO. What in-wall/in-ceilings are you using? We always use triad and focal "boxed" speakers.

I doubt that you'll get a significant difference between the CNAMPX and AAE/AES amplification for typical in-wall applications.

Leon maks the best sounding moderately priced in-wall / ceiling speakers I've heard.

If he's the type of audiophile that appreciates higher end electronics and has the speakers to warrant it, maybe the Arcam MZ8 and MZ12 would be a good match.

The initial installer had installed 5 inch paradigm in walls in the ceiling ( not sure why). We have a company up here called Angstrom Loudspeakers that have some really nice speakers. I'm thinking of taking them up to a 6.5" cuz an 8" inch would look pretty gaudy and out of place.

i just replaced some boston acoustics VRi555 in ceilings on an AMS/AAE system with some BW CCM663 and it made an immediate difference.
