Found that io hardware PMC3 and MC3 are the same.
I wonder if there is a possibility or a way to modify the PMC3 for a mc3 by changing firmware.

Anyone ever get this?

Give it a shot. Worst that can happen is you'll end up with a really nice Crestron paper weight.

I was going to post a long drawn out thing about how to do it by opening up an MC3 desoldering things, moving them to the PMC3 etc....

Instead I will just say nope, cannot be done.

I'm going to say yes. I don't know how yet but I'm doing a job in which as part of the building construction, every apartment got a base entry Creston system. When I first look at the job, I saw a PMC-2, 4L screen and a bunch of dimmers. The idea at first was to remove everything and start with full crestron. When we started to remove the dimmers/tstats we found them to be CLW-DIMEX-P. The PMC-2 has different firmware than a prodigy processor and accepts D3-PRO programs. The sad part is that no body at Crestron has been able to help me figure it out.

It can be done, but unfortunately I cannot explain how to do it.
Once I did a wrong combination between a Prodgy and a Crestron product and had to discover how to do it by myself.
It´s not an easy thing to do and I did it only once!

Hope no-one minds revisiting this but I am in a situation where I have 4-5 clw-sw1rf showing up the program tree as CLWs not verified and in the device tree as p-swrf and firmware confirms Prodigy Only. sending the proper firmware goes through the motions and seems to work at first but reloading show the prodigy FW again.

Everything works as it should in the programming but it's annoying me.
Any ideas?

Thanks,

G

Crestron released firmware for the PMC3 allowing it to work with any Crestron gear, not just Prodigy. I just upgraded an older customers system with some new Crestron gear on a PMC3, worked great.

Any idea how to restore the clw's to their native non-prodigy firmware?

You can't. Also there is no support for a P-DIM/SWEX in Pyng.

However you can add the Prodigy keypads and lighting controls to a CEN-RFGWEX etc.

Thanks for the info, good to know but I have a full home controlled by a pro2 and no Prodigy kit at all. imagine my surprise when the clw-sw1rf's reported prodigy firmware on a long overdue firmware check. oddly enough, one of them doesn't go into "SET" mode to set a local delay no matter how I try, that's how I discovered it.

Thanks,

Pretty sure that model was discontinued before Prodigy was around and there's no prodigy equivalent. Sounds like a bug in Toolbox or something corrupt on the dimmer itself.

The simplest solution is often the most overlooked, I may have a mix of both scenarios

I switch not going into "set" And toolbox recognizing 5 clw's as prodigy.

Anyhow as I said earlier, besides the local delay bug they work great running in the program.

Thanks

I just puled one from the wall to discover what at first looked like a perfectly normal clw-sw1rf then noticed a prodigy sticker was placed on the back of the screw plate.

anyone ever run into this?
