I think he means, he doens't think the PMC3-XP will be available through your natitional distributor. I'm pretty sure Direct Prodigy Dealers have access. The early number's I've seen show it being more than double the MSRP of a regular PMC3

Regular Prodigy won't be affected. Only direct full line Crestron dealers will have access to the new "XP" stuff.

Don't count on Prodigy XP being offered through distribution..............

think you wrong Chris, the way I see it, crestron opening their line through a*ad means they surely want to move as much boxes as they can.. therefore i'm sure they'll open it aswell

the XP product is for full dealers to sprinkle some Prodigy goodness into some of there projects. not for prodigy dealers to sprinkle crestron into there systems.

I personally don't care, as I have my hands full doing more regular prodigy than I can handle. However, that scenario just doesn't compute with me. Why would full dealers want to "sprinkle" in prodigy into full fledged systems? I'm sure the XP processor is going to be significantly more than the non-XP processor. I guess I just don't understand a scenario that would call for a full crestron system to use a prodigy processor?!?

it wouldnt be for needing the prodigy processor, it would be for needing a small 4 zone amp, a cost effective handheld remote, etc.

im going to be completely honest, Adagio is available at our business friendly ingram company. What makes you think XP is not going to be? Crestron is obviously now in the business of selling the most black boxes, otherwise they wouldn't of signed on with @v*d.

We will see, but im sure non direct dealers will have access to the XP line. as CGAV stated why would you want to "sprinkle" prodigy throughout the home filled with 100k+ gear? I would think from Crestrons standpoint, to sell more blackboxes they would allow prodigy dealers to offer the XP lines with the option to upgrade to the other great crestron items down the line (requiring a full blown crestron dealer)

You can look at it two ways. XP is for Full line dealers to have a way to do budget add-ons to existing systems or have less expensive processor to work with other full line gear that they already have tempalates and modules for.

OR

you can see it as a way to encourage Prodigy Only dealers to sale an even MORE upgradeable path/product to their clients and hopefully move into full line dealers making them that much less likely to pick up another large automation company (C4/Savanat/ AMX).

I had a conversastion with my Crestron Rep (we are direct prodigy only) and he gave me pricing and eta on all the new PRODIGY gear and the "PMC3-XP" is a piece of PRODIGY gear and I have pricing for that as well. He didn't make it sound at all as if I wouldn't be able to use them if I wanted to.

That's just my personal expereince. The XP model's MSRP is more than double that of the standard Prodigy only PMC3.

I wonder how much you have to sell of Prodigy to become a full on Crestron dealer? It must be $50,000 worth of product.

Why not stop at the question rather than continue on with a useless, ignorant comment? Last time a buddy of mine stepped up it cost about 14k. Considering the price differences between full Crestron and Prodigy, the fact that it included lighting, HVAC, touch panels, remotes, audio distribution and audio sources as well as 4 days of free training I'd wager it's a pretty good investment.

Yours is among the most stupid comments I've read in some time.
