Just thought it might be worthwhile to start a new thread on this because I kinda felt a tingle when I read the news on the Crestron site.

They talk about a new processor with Video output and GUI, a new version of PTX3 and a new 5.7" handheld touchscreen.

Does anyone know the release date for these and are all the products available to Prodigy only dealers?

Apparently the soon to come PMC3 will allow On screen display/menu. There's going to be a different sku, PMC3-XP, that will allow use of crestrons full line. I'd assume this is going to be a considerable price difference than the standard PMC3. I just want some new remotes. The PTX3 is absolute garbage. The side trigger doesn't last more than 2 or 3 presses before it gives out.

The new handheld is actually the PLX3 with colour (non-touchscreen) display and better range. Looks like it's going to cost less, which would make it better for bedrooms and such

i hope this doesnt let dealers over expand the system, even though it can be compatible with all of crestrons gear doesnt mean prodigy should do the heavy lifting.

Even though crestron said that they were not trying to wipe C4 off the planet, they sure will now depending on how the gui pans out.

Exciting and disturbing at the same time.

Are you kidding ? Did anyone see the rest of the new prodigy line ?
6x6 hdmi matrix, a 1080p hdmi receiver that goes over one cat5'a 6" wireless touch screen and more.

This is a game changer for prodigy.

Just noticed that the HDMI products all say "over a single shielded cat5."

Was told about this last month but I was sworned to secrecy... they even have A MUCH BIGGER GAME CHANGER for the 3 series they working on, i couldn't all remember the details, but it has to do with the DM.. 2011 GONNE B A HOT ONE!! ......meanwhile RTI still can't even release their iphone app.. I'm so disappointed in them

but yeh the plx3 is a good one..think it'd be good to just use prodigy inwalls and plx3s with the 2 series processors to keep down the cost on some pj, but as far as using prodigy as the mere backbone for heavy lifting, the installer can't be THAT stupid!

This is very exciting news to say the least. I had heard about most of the details a few weeks ago, but I am glad it is out in the open now. Game changer for sure.

I'm still torn between liking it or not, but I will say this, I try to design my UI's so that they are never using the "MORE" button. Just like with RTI & URC , I hate for my clients to need the "Page" buttons. I try to simplify it to one page as much as possible.
