I'm trying to figure out a way to have a button (the source buttons) show feedback based on the current room selected and if that source is currently playing in that room.

This is easy to do for one room:
If room=Family room AND source=tivo

But I want this to be based on which ever room is selected. So what I want is this:

If room=Family_room_AND_family_source=tivo OR room=kitchen_AND_kitchen_source =tivo OR room=m.bedroom_AND_m.bedroom_source=tivo.....then show fb state.

However, the conditional expression only allows for 'AND' or 'OR' or 'EXCLUSIVE OR'.

So any ideas?

The only thing I can think of is to instead created a button like a check mark or something for each room and source. The fb would be like the first example for each button.

OR

I could create sepearte source buttons for every room on a subpage and show the subpage based on room selection, at which point each button would already be set to the right room and the fb would only need the current source.

But, it seems like i shouldn't have.....i know, i know...stop using SB. :)

I haven't tried it myself, but you could probably do it with a few sets of variables:
Variable Fam_Tivo set if Family_Room AND Family_Source = Tivo
Variable Kitchen_Tivo set if Kitchen and Kitchen_Source = Tivo
Variable MBed_Tivo set if MBed and MBed_Source = Tivo

Then in the feedback programming If Fam_Tivo OR Kitchen_Tivo OR MBed_Tivo set then show feedback state.

I would just have to set those variables up as global expressions, right? A that they do it on their own with interaction. That could work, I've done so many prodigy systems where global expressions isn't an option, I forgot that I could use the.

These systems are all mc3's so ill give it a test.

That's correct. Let me know how it works.

If your using Crestron switchers/amps it's pretty easy to do in system builder. You have to go into the audio zone room feedback and look for the browse select list. You can base your conditionals for the feedback of the source buttons based on the audio zone room feedback. Look through some of the Prodigy programs system builder has created on the source select list and you will see what I am talking about. There should be a source name, whats playing, and the top header is the room selected. You can build your own list in a system based on how the programming works for Prodigy source select. I don't let system builder build anything for my projects. I do all the programming manually. Once you get the back bone of a couple of different style systems it's really easy to implement on other systems.
