i was in the midst of switching over to the dark C4de and needless to say, it did not happen. this sparked a renewed trust and opened up lines of communication and support in my existing control platform, Crestron. Simply said they are the best. and as many have had to do they are changing and evolving with the times. one fact remains the same, the resources, experience, innovation and grasp of the concept of home, building, control and automation is unparalleled. they have just helped us secure a tremendous amount of work and the best thing is that i have the big blue behind me.
I love supporting product that supports me!

ok so a few more questions.

1- what if i need more then 50 commands? (please dont say write a module in simple cause i dont know how yet and i need to get this done)

The best way to manage this task within SB, or other Crestron wizards is to generate a global preset which contains the commands you want executed via a trigger (recalling the preset).

I would suggest generating "zoned" global presets (1st FL, 2nd FL, exterior...) and recall multiple global presets for desired end result. By going about the program in this fashion you can reduce your programming time a bit, plus these zoned presets are useful to recall for use in other subsystems, such as security.

2 - any way to name these commands so i can tell the diff between them, or do i have to create an excel sheet to keep track of them?

thanks!

you can rename the global presets anything you want.

the global presets help with the naming and grouping, but does not help with the max of 50. i guess they want you going in to simpl at some point but i am not familiar with it yet.

i need to be. i know . .

for instance, i have rs232 commands representing buttons on a phantom keypad: KBP,[01:08:01],01\r

what command would be the feedback for that?
and how woudl i change a buttons state based on that command?

thanks!

im not sure if you can add another generic serial device and lay it on the same port. i know you can stack multiple ir devices on a single output port. give it a try. not by my laptop or i would try for you.

I'm currently putting a HomeWorks module in the SB and wanted to add it multiple times for additional room locations. However, you CANNOT stack serial devices on the same port.

I have been told, that you need to create the module in Simple with all of the pages/rooms/etc. and then covert over to SB.

And, you then need to get tall of the HomeWork serial communication information correct in the SB properties. I'm still trying to get it to work as you read this...................

if you open the terminal and go to lutron monitoring command Flegg box keypad LEDs
press a command of the phantom and it'll go out in the string of LED lights example KLS, [01:06:06] 010000000000000000
