All of the sudden a customer's XPanel (exe) stopped working. It won't connect. I can connect to the processor through toolbox just fine, but it won't connect through the XPanel. I have it set up in the XPanel to use the hostname (xxx.dyndns.org) and I can connect to the processor that way too. Anything I'm probably missing? It definitely WAS working as of a week ago when I left. Customer can't even connect when I have him change the IP in the Xpanel EXE from the hostname (dyndns) to the local IP address.

Any Ideas?

I know this sounds too simple - did you reboot the processor? I've had weird problems that I couldn't figure out go away after a reboot.

One weird thing is when I start the Xpanel, it acts like it is connecting and goes to the Home Page. Then when I click a button, it gives me the DISCONNECTED message.

If you can connect through toolbox, WAN, but not with XPanel, then it is probably the IP Table.

Ding ding ding.

It was the IP Table. I setup the XPanel in VTPro with the Dyndns hostname, so that's what it put into the IP Table. This is a mistake. It should be setup with 127.0.0.1 as the ip address. Then you can just change the hostname under the settings of the Xpanel. Seems weird but it works now. TrueBlue couldn't offer an explanation as to why it is that way.

Right now i have my laptop connected to my router and my control system, i am able to see my control system using the toolbox. my gateway ip on my router is 192,168.1.1 and my control system ip on my lan is 192.168.1.101.

I really want to get this working thanks.

If this is only ever going to be a local connection in your VTPro setup, use the loop back address of 127.0.0.1 instead of the addresses you are using. Also ensure that your program and XPanel IPID's match. Last within options of the EXE you are able to insert an IP address, this is where you type the address of your processor.

Hope this helps
You can't fix stupid
