Yahoo Group for Crestron has been around a long time. That seems to be the best place to go for help with Crestron.

If we had one, we would have the best place to go.

Besides, if you have any questions all you have to do is ask Alan,

Section [insert section name] doesn't exist because people haven't asked for [insert section name].

Seriously, if there's a need for anything I would be pleased to create it (forums used to be a pain to create, but now they're a snap).

There is a lot of amazing Crestron info at IP as well. Alan, Brian, Scott, Steve, Mark, Mike, Tony, Robert and some others are very helpful and know their stuff very well. Some of these guys were also workng for Crestron before.

I would like Crestron Section. Being new to Crestron and a Prodigy only dealer, I feel a little pushed aside sometimes.

Don't get me wrong, I've had some great help from guys at IP and some here as well. However, I haven't had much luck with help form the Yahoo Group. I don't think many of those guys are messing with Prodigy and so they don't have much to offer in terms of experience.

Maybe I'm wrong. I still try to search at use the yahoo group first b/c there is SOOOOO much info on there.

For example I'm trying to modify my current Prodigy Project in VTPro to have a nicer GUI, but I really don't know for sure what I'm doing. I've changed a few icons and graphics, but don't really understand what I'm doing or how it works.

I let SB build the project and all the logic then I'm just replacing images, except, well I don't know, I just started playing in it last night at about 1am.
do wino hue?

Yes, IntegrationPros has a LOT of Crestron discussions, and we are in the midst of converging them into a dedicated area.

Ditto for AMX.

(We already have dedicated areas for URC, Elan/HomeLogic, Vantage, NetStreams/DigiLinx, Savant, Lutron, Control4, etc.)

Daniel is obviously free to do as he wishes, but having seen the mess in the integration area at AVS, I don't think that a Crestron (or AMX for that matter) would grow into anything of value.

I think it will be EXACTLY like the AVS area, with well-intentioned DIYs trying to re-create award-winning control solutions from the mountains of readily available components on eBay parts from homes, universities and corporate facilities that are making changes.

Some guy will buy some crap off eBay and wonder why nobody will help him with the software, then it will be another rich_guy scenario where there is a lot of name calling and the whole area will devolve into an area nobody wants to visit....

RC and IP have had a synergistic relationship since IPs beginning (which began right here in Daniel's CI Lounge).

Everyone at IP recognizes RC's remote file areas and discussions to be the best on the web (which is why we never built any of our own) and there is no question that the DIY community are heavily responsible for the quality of the areas, but the files and in-depth discussions of pro-only products are probably best kept at the verified integrator site.

I'd like a crestron area here. Not all of can access IP. I can't divulge specifics about my employment due to high security and legal reasons, so they denied me. All of my AV work is in house but I am responsible for dozens of rooms and do the programming myself.

well . .
looks like it would be a good and bad thing if you made a crestron section here.

if you do make one,
make break it up in to sections,
Prodigy, Adagio, Lighting, Etc

otherwise - i did notice IP's cretstron section
and im ok going there when i need to.

i never really got in to IP for some reason.
just like the atmosphere better here i guess
: )
