Got one still in the box, looks nice. Waiting for one of the MAP rack systems to come in to set up a test system. I'll post some findings once we get it up and running.

You can use it without a processor as a stand alone device, you should play around with it to get a feel for it before you program.

It is a very cool piece that is very addicting. Once you pick up the keyboard it's hard to put it down. Blurays load very fast and look incredible, it will play any type of video on the internet, and you can use any type of server/hard drive to expand the memory. Crestron is working on increasing the abilities of the unit to include Netflix as well as control over sat/cable boxes. And, this is a stand alone device or part of a Crestron system, so it is very flexible.

"Blurays load very fast and look incredible"

You are referring to the changer I assume?

I got to play with it at Crestron and it is really cool, really, really cool. I am sorry but for what it does they are simply asking way too much money for it. It is only has a single video output and no way to go multi zone video. The Blue Ray changer is $11k and the 4tb storage array is $8k.That means for the unit, a 200 disk changer and some storage you are looking at $30k. Than you need a blue ray collection to fill the changer that will cost you another $5k. This is before we talk control.

Do the math, for the same money you could have a multi zone Kaleidescape system that you can use with your existing library, a blue ray player that streams netflix, you tube, hulu, and from your network, a tivo premiere or any number of boxes that does the rest; A matrix to send this shit to multiple displays and some universal controls to cap it off.

Not to mention that an apple tv is $230 is does a very similar task!

Having said that, the adms does look very sexy and if it dropped in price i could see selling this all the time. Looks very polished, love the keyboard.

From what I have been told, the unit will control the Sony changers once the update the firmware/software. I think they realized the the 200 disk changer was too much $$$$

By the way, I just had one customer purchase one just from seeing it on the Crestron website.

We went to the product training at Crestron. Unfortunatly, my impression of it was it is very cool and it does almost as much as a $400 LG BluRay player.

Can you add additional storage to the LG player? I am looking for one for myself. Thanks.

You guys are hilarious. Don't let any desire to actually learn about these various products get in the way of making silly statements :p.

Vincent, the ADMS is 9K. You can use ANY NAS you want if you don't want to use Crestron's. I agree the price on the changer was ridiculous and I would not use that.

Q even at 9K though it is a dissapointment as they claim it is revolutionary and it just isnt. If they are able to strike a deal with all of the online providers than I would feel differently but right now it is too limited for my customers limits.

I have a question about ADMS. Can you "flag" certain movies to trigger, say, a motorized sled for an anamorphic lens?

Finally got it out of the box and setup in my office. Blu-ray looks great, Netflix is easy, Hulu is easy to use, but not consistent on the accessing content. Going to try moving some movies over to the HD and linking an NAS with iTunes to see if I can make the connection.

Anyone else working with this beast?
