Of course, i am not offering Prodigy for new installs anymore, but i am very concerned if in a few months, one of my several happy prodigy customers wants to add an additional PTX3 or PTL4 or anything else.... should we stock some of them for a possible future use? I am afraid that these customers will hate me and crestron for installing something that was supposed to be high tech and all of the sudden is discontinued =(

Why stock them if you can just order them from a disty. Why would your customers consider it disco'd if its still in production?

If you are happy with what Prodigy can do for you why not continue to sell it for the projects it makes sense for? RTI is only though distro, I think same goes for URC.

Prodigy going to disty is no news for me, i know it for a while like you said. The fact that there is not going to be PTX3 neither PTL4 and some other stuff anymore (not even trough disty ) is new for me. just found out today. There will be only PLX3. I have many customers that first buy one Touch panel, and as they get used to it they add more to other rooms. Same thing happened to me with the Pronto... i guess it is just a little trauma, i should not worry.

Yeah, I wish Crestron could just give us full line dealers some firmware to flash all our ptx3's into mtx3's and convert the pmc3's to bp's or something. Even if at a small charge for those that really want it. Most my prodigy systems installed probably won't grow much, but have two or three that definitely may want to.

They are converting the PAMP and AM/FM/XM over to full Crestron units with similar Prodigy pricing. We had been using the PMC3-XP for most of our installs, so the MC3 is actually a few hundred dollars less. Where it gets more expensive is in the interfaces, but we think we can still create systems at a lower cost with a ton of flexibility and growth for our customers.

The mlx3 costs the same as the plx3, I think. And the mtx3 is close to the ptx3. If you were using the xp already, you will be set. With the full line pamp and the 3am coming out and costing the same or less than the ptl4, looking better and being PoE.

The only drawback I see is the lack of a $800 or leas processor. I wish they would at least do an mc3-mtx3 or mlx3 package to make price a bit more competitive.
