LOL the tech.nocr.at still has their 90's bandwidth theft graphics up huh? I wonder if they realize that they are using the same bandwidth to display the nag graphic? Morons. What will they think of next? Disable right click?

I'm interested in this thread, but have little to offer. I've never worked with door locks or entry access controls but have always wanted to. Looking at getting something for my house to play with.

it is laughable that crestron hasnt developed or partnered with a solution. totally ridiculous. Control4 can click add drop, and i have to custom engineer a solution that may or may not work well. total BS. being that i left the vendor a voice mail about the cas verde piece about noon today and havnt heard back, its not looking good. i think im going to recomend the kwikset and let them manage it seperately via their iOS app.

Yeah the Kwikset gear looks nice. And having all of your door locks engage when you arm your security is a very sell-able feature. I have been waiting for g! and RTI to add support for over a year now.

Thats the one area where C4 really excels being ahead of the curve on supporting these types of devices.

How long could it really take to write the driver for one of these things?

g! would have to run through a rs232 to zwave adapter first, but I bet it would take a day to write. They are probably busy with Lutron and energy management stuff. All these companies should be knocking on the door of Sonos and zigbee/zwave devices to integrate. Control4 has a Sonos solution of course!

Another option is to use a HAI panel with their access control. You would have to get a wire(s) to the door and reader though. HAI integrates well with Crestron.

Ive set up the locks with control 4, and they are very easy to set up and some nice features. I Set up buttons on a six button key one to unlock and goes green when door unlocked either manually or from the system. another button to lock and goes red. I also set both buttons to flash blue to off if the door is jammed. (unable to lock due to not being shut all the way)

I brought these locks up with an engineer/software developer at elan, and basically its not in the foreseeable future. I know they integrate witg the wyane dalton (Already discontinued) thermostat from the leviton z-wave to rs-232 and do not think they were very happy with its reliability.

I installed a door lock monitor for a crestron system last year, just pushrod sensors going to wireless window sensors going back to a reciever -> Hai panel -> Crestron pro2 via serial.

You could not lock the doors though, just verify they were locked.
