Just wondering what 3rd party ipod docks (if any) you guys are using for prodigy systems. We need 2way feedback to the remotes just like with the crestron doc. We typically use PIDOCV but this customer has older ipods and the dock doesnt like them and acts strangely.

Crestron dock costs a heck less than iPort FS-22. Also got my butt kicked to perform firmware update once.

A new iPod is probably the best thing to do here. I would be afraid of the older ones acting strange in a 3rd party dock also.

Agreed. Nothing is goig to integrate as easily and cheaply as the P-iDOCV. iPods are pretty cheap and would definitely cost less than the programming and modules required to make something else work.
Even better, get an itouch and it can be used for showing cover art are as an auxiliary remote for the system

+1 and leave it in the dock to act as a permanent music server.

Agree, the cost of a 2way 3rd party dock + amount of hours of programming to create true feedback would buy the customer probably 3 new iPods

Thanks for all of the feedback guys. Sounds like the P-IDOCV is going to be staying =)

I had an old classic act strangely the other day and an iTunes update to the iPod fixed the issue. If not, the customer needs to get a new iPod.

The cost of programming will usually be more expensive than the savings on the third-party equipment, if you do not have a programmer on staff.
Thank you, Damon
