Pandora & Internet Radio solutions for Crestron Prodigy - not Squeezebox, Sonos or Audionet

Here's the overview...
1) Client wants a Prodigy system

2) Client wants Pandora and internet radio w/2-way feedback on the remotes

Issues
1) Squeezebox requires SqueezeCenter to be running, which is a potential point of failure

2) The ControlWorks module recommends a maximum of 2 Squeezebox players (what if they want to add another later?)

3) The Sonos modules I've found do not offer Pandora or other internet services, but they do offer internet radio

4) Crestron Audionet will be too costly, since the main system is Prodigy and Pandora is not available yet anyway

Are there any devices out there to handle Pandora, internet radio and not have the limitations listed above?

How about the Marantz NA7004 or other equivalent device? What are you guys using successfully, if not Squeezebox or Sonos?

Thank you,
Damon

Agreed on the Autonomic. I just picked up the Squeezebox and module for testing as this feature is becoming a must item.
The squeezebox server is scary. I think if its running on a local PC (Full-time) its viable.
I also bought the NA7004 but i heard the two-way limited and those working on modules are getting no where. I am desperate for a solution that is value oriented (not cheap). I still think the autonomic piece is 30% too expensive.

Autonomic is pretty expensive, but it may be an option. I'd like to explore all avenues.

I agree on all points concerning Squeezebox and Autonomic.

My big wishes were Pandora and Rhapsody. The squeezebox solution offers these that's why I am testing it at home.

I agree that Autotomic would probably be your best bet. I actually use the Squeezebox solution to good success but squeezecenter is implemented directly on my automation controller so that means less complexity.

Shane,

What do you mean SC is implemented on your controller? Can you please explain how/what you did?

Autonomic MMS-2. It just works. Do wish the price point was a little lower.

I have yet to try it but Squeeze Box server can be installed on a Netgear Ready NAS NAS. And it is not a hack.

Shoe,

If I had to use it, that's what I would do. There are a few NAS enclosures that will do it, but ReadyNAS is the only one Logitech officially supports. I'm mainly concerned about scenarios, like the server going down, updates that could kill the module's functionality, etc.

Damon

Integra Receiver 40.2 and up. Not familiar with Crestron but URC offers 2 way feedback through modules so I would assume it would be possible for crestron
One thing I have learned in this industry. It is easier to pull a wire than it is to push one.

Thanks, RBH. I'm not an Integra Dealer, but this info may be something to look into with Onkyo.

the two way only shows meta data. it doesnt let you browse pandora stations or create stations via onkyo / integra.

at least thats how the 808 was. not sure about the 09 series yet.

Many people over at the RTI forum have been doing Vortex box loaded on a cheapo custom built PC. Has all the features you want and more and if it is working reliably with RTI for the guys i'm sure it would work equally as good with Crestron.
