If you could completely customize the PTX3 layout (because I know a lot of Prodigy or new Crestron Dealers arent')

How would you do it? How would you use the top 3 softkeys?

Would you have a toolbar for "LIghts, Climate, Media/or Power" on every page?

Just looking for some more opinions.

Certainly not climate. How often do you tweak the thermostat?

It's a great question though (not mine about climate) has anyone seen usability studies?

Does one make different interfaces for varying levels of user sophistication?

While I can apreciate your marketing, if you want to be helpful at this point, please provide some feedback on the topic.

my programer is using them for something different on each page. We use it for the 3D on off on the Samsung TV on our last job. He had it trigger a popup that allows for left to right movement then disappears. It worked really well.

I do all my stuff in Simpl/VT-Proe and when I do a PTX3/MTX3/TPMC-3x I usualy use the bottom left button for things like cable power or bluray power on their respective pages.
I have also used them for a quick jump to lights on systems that have lights.

On one project where the client has headphones in the MBR I use the center and right button for vol-/+ for the headphones.

As far as what could be done on a global setting thats works for 90% of people....Yeah I dont see it and I dont agree with how crestron builds GUIs. They all seem to be designed by the engineers and not installers with real world exp.

the Samsung pop up on screen requires left to right movement to select or deselect 3D for the 3D conversion of non 3D sources. So if you are under the watch cable TV the soft key control the Samsung 3d menu option.
