Has anyone used the Interwave radio tuner on a job or in their showroom? What did you think of it? how is the station selection? The reason I ask is because we are specing it for some jobs but the clients want to know more about it before they go ahead with getting it installed.

I have the audionet card installed on my demo system (AMS-AIP), works well, I have not set up the xm portion of it, simple to use, I do like you can set up playlists from a browser. Also you can have audio files on a memory card loaded into the unit for door chimes or event messages which again I haven't done :)

Current STATUS

17340 Stations Available
10395 Podcasts

You can listen to the stations and decide if they are worthy of being to your custom play lists, you can have a bunch, like his & hers lists etc. Selection is like the tunein radio app on the iphone (which is my fav) Also if there's a station not on the list you can add it,

Thanks UTS,

We wouldn't be too concerned about the XM portion as all the new machines come pre-loaded with the AMFMXM tuner card installed.

with the 17000+ stations how is the content selection? Is it a bunch of stuff that you would never listen to or is there an eclectic selection to suite most people's listening habits here in NA?

I checked out the site yesterday but require a device code and login so it doesn't allow me to go further into the site than the main page and account setup page.

Setting up audio files on a memory card would be quite handy for us as we use door phone systems and could play a door chime through the system (would be fun to try).

There's a bunch(a lot!) of crappy stations with low bit rates, some i tried through the system and they sounded terrible, in the short time I played around I found a dozen high bit rate stations that I liked. I have stations from Europe. I did notice that the euro stations had higher quality offerings, local stations for me in BC were sad, only 32 kbs ! I wasn't aware new machines have the AMFMXM by default, when I ordered mine it was one or the other. Its pricey for what you get ie my 2 dollar app allows me the same selection and the ability to record. if the audionet card had a similar feature using the memory card that would be very cool

Crestron has a featured list and its a very wide mix of music, your client should find something they like, I think internet radio is better than normal radio by a long shot.
