First install with a PTL 4 and have a few questions/issues:

1) This may be more of an P-IDOCV issue, but for some reason I am not getting any cover art on the PTL4. All other data coming through fine but no cover art. I'm wondering if it has to do with the IPOD I have connected, a first gen Touch.

2) How do I access the settings within the TP that allow me to set the standby time? Before I uploaded the program I was able to change the brigthness settings, etc. Now the program is uploaded I am unable to access those settings. Is that the right place to set the TP to go dim after say 5 seconds?

Cheers!

Thanks for the info.

That's what I assumed as well on the TP. Can't find it in there though. This must be a common issue. Surprised no else has jumped in with a soultion.

Update:

Tried an Iphone 3GS and still no cover art. A bit concerned as the client has a large music collection and I recommended the 160GB IPOD to stay in the dock and use SYNC to update it as his Itunes library changes.

On the PTL4 issue, I was able to reduce the TP standby time to 1 min in the devices internal menu (this appears to be the shortest option). However still unable to make the button lights shut off after a given time. Tried to find a solution via toolbox but was unsuccessful.

Anyone have experience with how to make this happen?

open toolbox and select the text console (icon on toolbar with DEV). Select the PTL4 from the address book, type help all for a list of commands.

type keybackltatstby off to turn off hard key backlighting when the PTL4 goes into standby.

type keybkl and any number from 0 to 100 (equals brightness in %)

example; keybkl 20 sets the key brightness to 20%

For the iPod, do you have the default graphic for cover art on the PTL4 when the iPod is playing?

Thanks kgossen. I will try that in toolbox later today. When the Ipod is playing, the Crestron blue logo is in place of the cover art.
