Simple Prodigy system using latest System Builder and a PMC3. Just want to make outside lights, P-DIMEX, to come on with motion. Added generic motion, normally closed, and system builder assigned it to pmc3 input 1. Started off with just simple programming saying on motion detected, turn outside dimmer to 100%. Built and uploaded program and nothing?

Confirmed operation of motion detector, comfirmed normally closed, dimmer works fine just can't get it to turn on the dimmer.

Is there a trick to these? All my other progamming is working fine and this just seems like a no brainer

TIA!

I think you would want your relays to be normally open. When motion is sensed the relay will close and turn your lights on. Motion sensors are normally open. When no motion (Open) when the sensor detects motion the sensor will (close) and turn the lights on. I have honestly never seen a motion sensor that is normally open. Any way, just change your programming to normally open and see what happens.

Actually most motion sensors are normally closed, at least on the security side.

But seeing that Crestron offers generis models of both normally open and normally closed I don't see what it matters.

Sorry dude. I thought you were talking about a motion sensor for lighting control.

I am using it for lighting control. I think my issue was patience. Need to wait a little after uploading for things to settle because all is now working!
