I just fired of a 3 proposals using the AADS, on their website it now says limited supply, I haven't received an email which got me wondering how long in advance do they tell dealers what is being disco'ed

Yes, it competes with the Prodigy. The AES is now the entry level Adagio system. I think you also have to get it with one of the tuners, XM, SIR or AUDIONET card.

Thanks, is there a way we can see when an item is being discontinued?

Unfortunately, I don’t know of a discontinuation list. In fact, I think they shy away from any word like, DISCONTINUED. I guess it looks bad??? However, if you look at the “Future Products - Pricing and Release Schedule” and see existing product on this list, you can assume it is going away. “Limited supply” seems to be the code word:)

I emailed TB and asked what was happening and from the response it doesn't sound like they are being discontinued but are low on stock levels for the device. I will reply tomorrow asking if it for sure is being removed from their product line or if it is just a stock level problem.

*UPDATE*

I talked to Nina at Crestron yesterday and she has confirmed that the AADS is discontinued. She was not aware of this until I responded to her email and she looked into it further.

This most definitely sucks the big one as we have a builder contract with the AADS spec'd and are now trying to find a cost effective work around. Comparing Prodigy to the AES there isn't a whole lot of price difference and at some points the AES is cheaper but we are looking at $1000+ between the AADS and AES solution which is going to be hard to explain to the customer.

Just buy a ton of the AADS now and use them as the jobs come up.
Who says you can't put 61" plasmas up on cantilever mounts using toggle bolts? <---Thanks Ernie ;)

Seems like Crestron is in a huge transition period. 2011 is going to see some growing pains in residential. I am waiting for the new programming environment and on-screen UI. Hard to compete against Elan g! and Control 4 without price point and on-screen UI.
