Does anyone have documentation or specs on the Template Data that is used by sb?

I've searched TB support, resources, proe and system builder help and can't find anything other than a few refs here and there. SInce alot of this R&D is after 11pm I could easily be missing something.

Appreciate any help or pointers.

TIA

I haven't found anything. I've just been opening the Crestron Templates and go through and studying what they have built-in to try and understand it some.

From what I understand about the template data is the easiest way to change graphics is after the project is built by system builder, go into VTPRO and change your buttons and backgrounds to what ever template you want. Make sure you keep all the join numbers the same when adding custom buttons. I could be wrong but this is how I understood it when it was explained to me.

Awe, but there are other reasons to edit template date. For example the Destiny template for DVR (for cable boxes) didn't have the MENU command template data put in and so the command wouldn't auto populate. Not a huge deal, but very irriatating if you forgot to fix it every time.

I found how to modify, saved the entire Destiny template for the PTX3, added the templated data and changed some other things and now SB will auto generate programs using my graphics and has the template data putting codes where I want it.

I did it on the hard buttons for each of the DVR pages, just added this:

Press:&MENU

And now it puts the MENU command in every time. i brought this up to Crestron and they may have fixed it in one of the Destiny template udpates, but the point remains that the Template Data is for more than just graphics.

I'm working on chaning the Navigation Toolbar. I prefer to use Softkey 2&3 as Page Up/Down for the DVR, I put raise/lower buttons for the lights on the touch panel and reduced the presets to just 9 per page. I use softkey 1 for VOD or whatever they request.

Its still a work in progress but can be pretty powerful and give you a custom graphic set everytime without editing every time.

Similar to what I qhave been doing. Developing a methodology that greatly minimizes and hopefully eliminates the need to worry about losing customizations while allowing an interface to be totally rebuilt.

Got started down this path when everyone in class could not get dynamic presets to appear on the ptx3 bk in dec. Made my own tv tuner dev in the template. Now have TiVo premier and bluray custom devs in the template.

The lack of standardization within the crestron provided bits and pcs that sb depends upon has been ... Well you know.

I did not expect that anyone had any doc since just some gnome hiding in creskill nj has kept it hidden as a form of job security.

But if some should appear that would be extremely welcome.
