just reconfigured demo system from scratch using latest version. my panel is not going on. real-time trace doesn't look right to me but i do not have an earlier version of the config to compare to.

does your program turn on the receiver and panel and then wait or does it turn on the receiver then wait then turn on the panel?

In my system it does the latter. It executes the Display Power On Preset (which only contains the .1 sec POWER_ON pulse) and then immediately sends the HDMI_1 signal (.2 secs after in this trace).

See trace below.

I suspect that the HDMI_1 signal is somehow interfering with the power on even though that does not make sense to me. I would expect the panel to turn on and possibly ignore the HDMI_1 command.

Panel - sammy 7k (IR)
rcver - Marantz SR7005 (RS-232) using slightly modified denon module (changing the signal names to be SB friendly).

[EDIT] - I added a 5s delay in the Display Power On as a shot in the dark (pun there). the trace shows the HDMI_1 executing immediately (still). the trace below is the original without the added delay.

[EDIT.2] Adding the delay after the preset is run in the device selected fb .. Source 'blah blah selected rising edge. uploading now.

[EDIT.3] that delay did dick all. if there is a delay between the preset running and the HDMI_1 it sure doesn't show in the trace or in the results:

I've got several jobs with the Samsung 7000 3d TV. If this is the same one you are using, then the IR pickup is picky as hell. If you're positive that IS NOT the problem, then I'd rebuild the program and upload it once more to the processor. If it is truly in the programming, your trace doesn't show it. Might try resetting the front panel of the PMC2 before performing the rebuild and upload.

look under presets in real time mode. Make sure you have a check mark on your presets to see them in real time mode. Add longer delays to the input commands and try making your pulse longer on the commands. I typically use .02 pulse commands as a default. Do you have discrete power on/off for your tv?

It's funny. I responded last night, now today, I'm at a prior job with a Samsung 7k, and I am having the EXACT EXACT same issue. Let me know if you got it fixed.

just got into the office and will check the above suggestions right away. thanks for your input.

[edit] oh. yes the discrete codes for the tv work, using the generic plasma/led ir. they worked in the prior to upgrade program and they continue to work if i dbl click the preset while in trace mode. the difference is the immediate follow on of the hdmi_1 command.

any idea why my delays are not showing up?

changed pulse to .2s in the display power on preset.
have delay for 2s as step two in that preset.
still nfg
still don't see a delay of the 2secs in the trace.
going to try a .5s pulse for the power on.

ok. i'm pissed off now.
btw hard boot of processor did not help.
.5s pulse on with 2 sec delay in the preset did not help.
the trace is not showing any of the delays. in fact the log shows only a 2 tenths delay between the power on and the source select:

52Display Power On Preset Run01:46:39.47 PM
53Theater, Display Device POWER_ONTrue01:46:39.49 PM
54Theater, Display Device HDMI_1True01:46:39.51 PM
55Theater, Display Device HDMI_1False01:46:39.52 PM

I think I remember that delays were shown in the trace previously. i am not seeing any ?!

Question: is the time in the trace the actual execution time or just the log time? if just the logging time that could explain not seeing a pause in the log.

You should probably call Crestron. Ask for Corey Stein if he is available.

I am seeing delays when I do my trace, where i've programmed them. I don't have my power on under the preset though.

I got mine figured out. I added a second power off pulse after a 2 second delay and that worked for me.

Just a minute, I left my laptop in the car. I'll go get it and start it up, and send you my trace. It may take about 10 minutes to get it all up and open

Nevermind, just realized I can't run a trace off-site. I am now back at home. I didn't save the trace, so I apologize.

I don't use the display power on preset. I don't want it trying to control the TV's on it's own. I make the preset for display power on blank. Then, under PROGRAMMABLE EVENTS for RECEIVER DEVICE -> Two Zone Volume Extender, there is where I put all my IR Codes for what I want it to do when that room's sources are selected.

For example, in this list, there is a Source_'DirecTV:Line-Level Audio'_Selected (Rising Edge)', under that I have the following commands (in this order:)

Pulse Keeping Room, Display Device-->POWER_ON for 0.2s
Delay for 2s
Pulse Keeping Room, Display Device-->POWER_ON for 0.2s
Delay for 2s
Pulse Keeping Room, DirecTV-->POWER_ON for 0.2s
Delay for 2s
Pulse Keeping Room, Receiver Device-->POWER_ON for 0.2s
Delay for 2s
Pulse Keeping Room, Receiver Device-->Video2_CBL/SAT for 0.2s
Delay for 2s
Pulse Keeping Room, Display Device-->HDMI_1 for .2s

Now I have a bunch of delays, but i've trained my customers to be patient. This system is all IR, no serial, so I wanted it to be as solid as possible using IR.

Let me know if there's anything else I can offer since it seems we're using the same display.

thanks for the generous offer.

i have temporarily programmed around the issue by executing another power on in the preset as well as the input selection.

regarding the log, am i mistaken in my recollection that the log displayed the delay as a separate line and in the Value column you would see 5d for a 5 second delay?

If so, where has mine gone (rhetorical)

i have trace on for the panel, the rcvr, the pmc2+, the presets, and the tuner (tivo), is there something else i need to see those delays (unless my recollection is just plain false).

I don't recall. I think I remember seeing the seconds being different. i.e. a 2 second delay programmed, then the next step was timed 2 seconds later.

oddly enough by adding a 4 second delay, in the global preset, BEFORE the power on pulse, the system works.
