All this talk about ID addressing and such...
Is this only if you use the flashers?
You should change the channel on the MRF-300 no matter what. As Mike stated, the default ID "0" is for testing purposes. Make sure you change the channel in MXEditor as well (to the same channel as the MRF)
How do you know if you need the flasher or not?
Meaning how do you know it your component is IR or RF?
Most AV components have IR capability. Refer to the owners manual to be sure though. As long as it is IR, place the flasher over the "eye" where the component normally receives the signal from the original remote. If it's not ovious where the "eye" is, and it's not in the manual, use a flashlight to look for it on the front panel.
If I was to use the flasers for all my components, just
where do you put the RF base?
Meaning does it still have to face the components or do
you put it in the cabinet with the components?
Once you have the emitters in place and the ID's matching, you can put the MRF-300 out of sight.
Hope this helped. If I left anything out, I'm sure Mike will chime in as he's probably forgotten more than the average person will ever learn when it comes to remotes. ;-)
