I've had a problem with my Direct TV DVR's becomming too sensitive to the IR signals. First receiver worked for over one year before it started. I could not resolve the problem with different placement and various sheilding of the ir emitter. Swapped out the Direct TV unit with another one I had. Worked fine for about 5 months and then acted up. A single command seems to be repeating like one channel up goes two up like a double command. When I move or partially sheid the ir emitter I either get no function or the problem function. added 1000 ohm resistor also. Any ideas? Would buying a mrf-300 solve this problem? Would it work with my mx-800?

I could never get an MRF-200 or 250 to work with a DirecTv HD Tivo, but using an MRF-300 with the output for that emitter turned all the way down did the trick. Yes, an MRF-300 will work with an MX-800.
