Hi Everybody,

New to forum but heard this is outstanding resource for programming. I could use any helpful information on how to use variable's with the MX-3000 touch screen. Here is what I am trying to accomplish and can't beleive URC is NO HELP what-so-ever on this application.

We have a multi room AV system in a clients home and one home theater. The opening screen provides the choice of what room they would like to control. Based on what room they choose we would like to be able to have the hard button volume control be active for the descrete code of that zone. The punch through will only provide a global assignment.

I hope this makes sense and any information would be terrific. I saw the thread with KCthirstear mentioned some information might be helpful. Any input is greatly appreciated.

The easy way to do what you are asking is a device page for each room. Build the page and copy to the others and just program the codes for each room onto that device. Trying to do this with variable for the first time would take longer to do, until you have a very good grasp on how the variables realy work.

Thanks

P.S. which remote are you trying to program? It might make a big differance in how to program it.

Are you using only the MX-3000? If you use an MSC400 I have both configs to send you if you want them. I did most of my variables in the MSC400 so the MX3000 config by itself would not be much help.
