I just ordered both the H20 and HR20 from Directv (coming Friday). I planned to program both into my Pronto TSU3500.
I thought I noticed on the website when I was researching that there was a "new" russound.irp file that I should use to generate the IR codes with makehex. I downloaded the latest makehex files and the file was exactly the same as the last one I had for a couple years. Was there a change?
Thanks!

I just looked through my computer files; I had two versions of russound.irp. The only difference was the last line:
Version 1:
Form=10,-2,D:4,F:8,C:4,1,-50;5,-2,D:4,F:8,C:4,1,-50
Version 2:
Form=10,-2;D:4,F:8,C:4,1,-50,5,-2
Does anyone know which one I should use? I ran makehex on both and tested with IRtools. Comparable protocol and OBC for each.

The difference between those is the behavior for a long press. Both would send the same initial signal.
Your "version 1" would then continue the signal as long as the button is held (assuming the IR code is the only action in the button's action list).
Your "version 2" would send nothing beyond the initial signal, regardless of how the code was used in the action list and regardless of how long the button was pressed.
I don't recall that "version 2". But maybe I suggested it to someone in some thread here as a work around to a situation in which the ordinary signal was sent for too long (doubling some action that the user wanted to occur just once).
BTW, aren't we in the wrong forum for programming your Pronto?

Thank you John.
"Version 2" is actually in the latest version of russound.irp in the makehex.zip file on your website. If memory serves, I believe you updated the last line as a result of some problems folks where having with either newer Pronto's or newer equipment. But for the life of me, I couldn't find the original post. It looks from the description in your post that I should use "Version 1". But still not entirely sure. I can always try both when I get the equipment on Friday.
Also, sorry for my post to the wrong forum.
John
