I have a total of five MX-800 remotes, and am caught in the never-never land of programming software. Much as I would like to dump this company, I have too much invested for that to be practical, so my question is this:
If I purchase a new remote, such as an MX-850, from an authorized dealer, and get the new software for it, will the same software also work with the MX-800?
Thanks for your advice...

The MX-850, MX-800, and MX-700 software will all program either of the three remotes. They're basically the same software. The only problem you could get is trying to use the MX-700 software with the MX-800 or MX-850 if you want RF, other than that it will all work.
You're also aware that you can get the non-updatable software from URC's site, correct? It's been updated fairly recently too...it's only a few months old. There's a sticky thread ("Getting Software For Your Remote") for more information.
