For my BellExpressVu 6100 receiver I found a macro to mimic the discrete ON/OFF codes. It works with my MX850.
To Power ON: SYS INFO, wait 0.3 sec, PWR, wait 0.3 sec. ,PWR. That will always power on the dish even if it is already on.
To power OFF: SYS INFO, wait 0.3 sec.,PWR. It will always turn it off.
