How do I use only 1 discrete code from the IR database instead of all of the codes associated with the remote?

Use the IR navigator option and you can drag and drop the individual code you want

This is available on the MX900, TX1000, MX950 and MX3000. Either select the button "Custom" when in the IR database or click on the "IR Database Navigator" shortcut icon in the regular tool bar.

Does that make sense?
