Does the Relay out work for a DC trigger? Say to trigger a Niles SPK1 autoswitcher.

Thanks,

Yes, the relay can be used to trigger something like the SPK1. I use it to trigger a screen mask on a 2.35:1 screen.

The relay is more than capable of operating anything that has a 12 volt trigger on it.

Output of a relay depends on the input to the relay as well as the rating of the relay. A relay is just a switch but instead of a little handle to operate it, voltage is applied to a coil. HERE is a link to the spec sheet for the relay I found in my EARLY MSC400, they may have changed the relays, but I'm sure they are still quite adequate.

** NOTE ** I DO NOT KNOW THE OFFICIAL RATING, this relay is more than adequate but the tracings on the board are probably not up to the same rating

So..............................
If I take the 12v ouput to the right of the Relays run it over to the relay#1.
then hookup the trigger to the same relay.
And.
I have devloped a 12v DC triger with a max of .5a

Then,
In MSC400 editor, in a smart macro, I turn it off or on depending on the state that I want it. One macro for on one for off.
