I am close to getting the RFX-250 and I want to confirm something.

I know it is compatible, but will the RFX-250 + MRF-300 be equivalent to the MRF-350?

If adding the RFX-250 to the MRF-300 is not as good as just getting the MRF-350, what is different about the base unit?

thanks.

Honestly, it is rumored that there may be slightly different firmware in the MRF-350 than the MRF-300, but in the real world I've seen no difference. I put about 20 RFX-250s on MRF-300s and seen vast improvements in performance, which in every case solved the problem.

I am perfectly comfortable adding the RFX-250 to the MRF-300.

I've added the RFX-250 with the 300 to fix several problem installs. It worked as well as I'd expect the 350 to work out of the box.

I think I recall that the 350 has slightly better emitter control on the low end than the 300, but I've never had a problem with the adjustments on the 300 or 350.

As stated before, They claim there's a difference, but If there is one, it's pretty minor. I've never noticed.

thanks for the feedback.

I went to IR for a few weeks and then after missing the RF control, I moved my antenna to a different spot. This worked for a bit but then gave me problems a few days later.

Today I finally ordered the RFX-250.

Here's to hoping this solves all my problems :-)

The MRF-350 is supposed to be more finely tuned for enhanced RF performance than the MRF-300. However, if you do upgrade to the RFX-250 and have a narrowband-ready model, you should notice a performance difference with the MRF-300.

Thank you,
