I am a new owner of the 900 Genesis and I have one programming issue that is driving me nuts so I hope someone can help. I am a Direct TV user and I have two receivers in my system in my TV room - an HD receiver for the TV and a separate standard receiver (Direct TV, D11-100SD) for my DVD player/recoreder (Pioneer DVR 633-H). That DVD player's remote pulls up a TV Guide directory - if you have cable to support it; I don't. Here's the problem - when I'm watching the TV using the HD receiver and I press "guide" on the 900, it pulls up the satellite tv directory as requested. But when I am monitoring through the DVD player and I press "guide" to pull up the Direct TV Std receiver guide I get the DVD player's TV Guide, which is of course useless to me. This means I can't change the channel on the DVD, which of course means I can't record anything off the TV. What can I do to fix this.

Thanks in advance.

Delete the IR code on the DVD player's "Guide" button, then shortcut it to the "Guide" button for the DTV receiver.

Well, the person helping me said that's what he just tried to no avail.

I have had the same problem deleting IR codes from buttons. It simply does not do it sometimes (any of the time?). I created a new device and as long as I stay away from the IR database, it seems to work ok.

You can't just click the button, tap delete, and choose "IR code," then do a control-c/control-v to shortcut the button?

I've never not been able to do this.

I do this all day long. In fact, simply copy/paste over the button will replace it. Or drag a new button from the IR database browser. But the correct way is the way mentioned first. Delete the button. Make a new button, then reference it via macro to the guide button.
