I am a newbie with an MX-850. My Comcast Digital Cable (Motorola DCT700) has 50 or so music channels starting at channel 400 and running to 450. I have the DCT700 wired directly to the VCR2 input on my Technics SA-GX490 receiver. I would like to be able to create LCD buttons for my favorite channels (ie Jazz is on channel 430, and Rock is on channel 412). However I can not figure out how to do it. I have tried Learn and have tried a Macro, but it just isn't working. The manual was not a lot of help. If I press 430 on the Mx-850 number pad, it changes the channel perfectly. Can someone point me in the right direction?

Use the FAV pages, or create a new set of pages for favorite channels (note if you use the FAV pages, you can have 50 slots, a new device will only allow 40). Then assign each button a label, and create a macro on that button with each number followed by a delay (about 0.2 seconds, experiment a bit). So channel 430 could be:

4
DELAY
3
DELAY
0
